Russell managed the 6,430 s.f. renovation, converting an existing clinic lab into a new Emergency Department. The project was completed in two phases, beginning with the construction of a new, smaller lab area, including a dumbwaiter, allowing staff to relocate before renovating the vacated space into a full emergency department suite.

In 2025, Russell completed a 3,900 s.f. expansion and renovation of the space, allowing MercyOne Genesis’ Bettendorf Healthplex to better serve the growing patient demand in Bettendorf and surrounding communities. The project added six new exam rooms, one procedure room, a triage space, and an additional supply room. This expansion increased capacity from 9 to 15 treatment spaces, giving staff more flexibility during high-demand periods. The added triage area allows for expedited patient assessments, allowing for quicker identification of care needs. Designed with collaboration in mind, the improved layout allows staff to communicate and work more efficiently. The updated space has been well-received, with team members expressing pride in their work environment and appreciation for the enhanced patient care experience.
