self performance construction
What is Self-Performing?
Russell’s self-performing division uses our nimble and highly-skilled labor force to complete all or a portion of the key trades for your project. We think of self-performing as a division or team, rather than just a service. After winning a project, our in-house self-performance team has the ability to manage and run smaller projects (<$2MM), should it make the most sense for your project.
You still choose from our three delivery methods: general contracting, construction management, and design/build. We perform capabilities from tracking, financial reporting, material procurement, scopes of work, execution, and scheduling. This is done at a time and cost savings to you.

* None of our self-performing work interferes with our subcontractors or union agreements.
Time & Cost Savings
We solicit competitive bids from the local market to ensure we are providing you with the best possible value. We then compare the cost of self-performance against competitive bids to ensure that self-performing will be a time and cost savings. You’ll receive our formal recommendations in order to make an informed decision.
The increased efficiency of having the entire construction process under one roof is another way your time and costs are reduced. Being able to omit the timely step of subcontractor selection and onboarding is a significant time-saver, allowing our crew to perform the work and your project to start sooner. Plus, our teams always employ open-book accounting to ensure there are no surprises along the way or at the completion of your project.

Although our core team for this division works primarily on projects based in the Quad Cities region, expansion to the St. Louis and Kansas City markets is possible!
improved safety.
Our highest safety standards, training, and expectations are in full focus when our in-house crews (crews that have worked on-site in construction activities for their entire careers, in many cases) are self-performing. We work as one unit which sets the standard for any other subcontractors. Not to mention that our culture and core values are centered around people and safety.
Our commitment to safety is 100%; always has and always will be!
