Set on the edge of downtown Davenport along the banks of the Mississippi River, the museum was built to house the expanding collections of the existing Davenport Museum of Art. The project was a centerpiece of a long-term effort to revitalize the riverfront area. Wrapped in a dual wall of opaque and transparent glass and built with European systems and materials seldom encountered in the United States, the Figge Art Museum is truly a masterpiece. This project includes:

  • 110,000 s.f. Art Museum
  • 128 ft. high (more than 10 stories)
  • 4 Levels
  • Public square
  • 25,000 s.f. Gallery
  • Restaurant
  • Gift shop
  • 5 Art studios
  • Auditorium
  • 45,000 s.f. 86 stall below-grade parking garage

Russell did not only perform excellently in executing their own work but also managed to motivate all parties and sub-contractors involved in the project so that the result is a statement of seamless high quality craftsmanship.
