Russell Ranks on 2021 ENGINEERING NEWS-RECORD’S TOP 400 CONTRACTOR LIST
We are proud to announce that Russell has earned a spot on Engineering News-Record’s Top 400 Contractor’s list for the second year in a row! ENR, one of the highest regarded publications in the engineering, architecture and contractor industry, ranks contractors across the United States based on revenues generated the previous year.
2020 was a year of challenges, but even more it was a year of opportunities to pivot and become stronger as a business. Facing challenges like transitioning to a more virtual world and managing material shortages, the Russell team adjusted and continued to provide a high level of service to our clients and partners. Appreciating and building people has always been part of our values and mission. We recognize that the stability and growth of Russell would not be possible without the dedication of our team.
Russell completed several notable projects in 2020 including the:
- R. Richard Bittner Downtown YMCA in Davenport, IA
- Vintage Cooperative in Altoona, IA
- Le Meridien Hotel in Clayton, MO
In July 2020 the full-scale 140,000 s.f., 17-story renovation of the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel St. Louis into a Le Méridien was completed in Clayton, MO. Russell worked with global design firm, HOK, on this project to transform the property into a European inspired hotel featuring 267 guestrooms and suites, 15,000 sf. of meeting space and re-concepted restaurant featuring high-end, craft cocktails, upscale bar fare and a lounge-style atmosphere.
In December 2020 construction of the new 78,000 s.f., three-story R. Richard Bittner Downtown YMCA was completed. This facility features an outdoor “River Deck” overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River, a 25-yard, 5 lane lap pool, a full-sized gymnasium, multiple group exercise spaces, community spaces and more. We are honored to have been able to partner again with the Scott County Family YMCA to build this new location that will help youth and families in our community and continue to transform Downtown Davenport.
Ground breakings were celebrated for a number of other exciting projects in 2020 including the University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art. This structure will be the new repository for the university’s extensive art collection that includes the well-known Jackson Pollack work, “Mural”.
