Jim Russell envisioned the development of a Class “A” Corporate Office Campus in Davenport, Iowa, similar to that he visited in major metropolitan areas around the country. Birchwood Fields is a master planned office community featuring open areas, water features, and superior technology infrastructure and screened parking. Established architectural guidelines identifying a complimentary palate of glass, brick, concrete and metal panels has assured quality in the campuses building designs. Modern style of architecture with strong, yet timeless forms, has allowed for unique building solutions.
Particular attention was given in the development of the master plan on building placement, solar orientation, storm water retention, vehicle and pedestrian circulation, and sufficient parking ratios. Due to the master developer approach to the park a nontraditional demarcation of property lines has led to the development of true campus “feel” to the site.
The campus “feel” is due to the sharing of amenities and the architecture of the campus itself that lends to pedestrian interaction. The culture of the park encourages entrepreneurship, education, technology and innovation.
