Russell's 36th Annual charity golf outing

We had a beautiful day out on the course for the 36th Annual Russell Charity Golf Outing!

We’re thrilled to announce that thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, golfers, and volunteers, we blew the event record out of the water, raising an incredible $69,000 for this year’s charity of choice, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley!

For more than 30 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As a donor supported volunteer organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, orchestrated matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 through 18, throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois. They develop positive friendships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

For the past 36 years, Russell has proudly hosted our signature charity golf outing, a cornerstone event that has contributed over $810,000 to the local Quad Cities non-profit community.

A NOTE FROM BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY

“WOW!  HUMBLED!  INSPIRED!  These are a few of the many words that come to mind when reflecting upon what we witnessed last week at the 36th Annual Russell Golf Outing.  On behalf of the parents/guardians, children, volunteers and school partners who drive our mission and impact every day, we would like to thank all the participants, sponsors and volunteers who made the event memorable for our organization.

As many of you witnessed at the reception, young adults like Kydin really blossom and respond to our program and the volunteers, community partners and professional staff who dedicate time and talent to guide and inspire them.  It is through your financial investments that time and resources can be invested in the potential of our area youth.

As Jim mentioned during his remarks, investing in our community is critical to our vitality and growth.  We are so thankful to Jim, Caitlin and the entire Russell team for not only supporting BBBS through this wonderful event, but their work every day in our community to make it the best it can be!  Thank you!”

– Jay Justin, President & CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley
