Russell Earns ENR Midwest Award of Merit for A.Y. McDonald Foundry

Russell is proud to announce that the A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. Foundry in Dickeyville, WI has been named an Award of Merit winner in the Manufacturing category of ENR Midwest’s 2026 Best Projects Awards.

Judging concluded this month, with ENR Midwest selecting 19 Best Project winners and 16 Awards of Merit from 108 submissions across 19 categories. Russell’s entry for the A.Y. McDonald foundry was recognized among an elite group of Midwest construction projects for its scope, complexity, and execution.

Completed in 2026, the 431,200 s.f. foundry serves as a state of the art facility for A.Y. McDonald’s brass casting operations, supporting the company’s mission to lead the water and natural gas distribution products industry. The facility houses highly automated molding, melt, and casting finishing systems, along with a dedicated sand plant and streamlined shipping and logistics area, all designed with worker safety, environmental responsibility, and long term operational efficiency in mind.

Russell served as the design-build partner on the project, working closely with A.Y. McDonald from preconstruction through completion to deliver a facility built to support the company’s next era of growth.

This recognition from ENR Midwest builds on a project Russell has celebrated at every milestone, from the ceremonial groundbreaking to A.Y. McDonald’s 165-plus years of manufacturing leadership. It’s a fitting close to a project that reflects Russell’s commitment to design-build partnerships that deliver lasting value for clients across the Midwest.
