Ribbon Cutting: The Bend – Hyatt Place / Hyatt House

Friday, December 14th was a day to remember for the East Moline community as The Bend: Hyatt Place / Hyatt House officially cut the ribbon on the new 150,000 s.f. dual-branded hotel.  Project contributors and other Quad Cities residents came to celebrate the grand opening and were greeted by Liberty, a bald eagle from St. Louis who came to celebrate the event.

With a river view in every room, this nine-story structure is nestled alongside the Mississippi River as a part of the first phase of the The Bend on the Mighty Mississippi mixed-use development.  The combined Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels will offer guests two different hotel experiences under a single roof including 233 spacious guestrooms for both short-term and long-term stays, shared lobby amenities, flexible meeting facilities, a pool and a glass enclosed ninth floor bar and restaurant to entice both travelers and locals.

Russell is also a proud construction partner on two more projects currently under construction at The Bend: an event center that will serve as an excellent location for wedding receptions and holiday events and an 8,400 s.f. QC Mart convenience store and strip mall. Both projects are expected to be completed in 2019.
