Groundbreaking: Home2 Suites by Hilton

On Tuesday, July 17th, ground was officially broken on a new Hilton brand four-story, 107-suite extended stay hotel. Bettendorf’s soon-to-be Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel will stand on the grounds of the former Lodge Hotel, which was demolished in 2016.  This project will consist of a $14 million investment and will generate more than 100 construction jobs in the Quad Cities. Each suite will include a fully-equipped kitchen, interchangeable furniture arrangements, complimentary Internet, and a complimentary daily breakfast.  The remaining 6.9 acres of land on the existing Lodge site is also in the works of being redeveloped.

“Being called the gateway to Bettendorf, this redevelopment will only continue to fuel the growth we’ve been seeing in our region,” says Caitlin Russell, Vice President of Russell. “We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this project and working with long-time partners, Frontier Hospitality Group and the City of Bettendorf.”

Construction is scheduled to be completed next summer, and the hotel is expected to be in operation by late 2019. Russell is proud to have a continued partnership with Frontier Hospitality Group and is excited to be playing a role in bringing another project to life for them.
