Women in Construction Week: Celebrating the Impact of Women at Russell

At Russell, Women in Construction Week is a celebration of impact. It highlights the women who solve complex challenges, strengthen partnerships, and help build the communities we serve.

Across all departments, women at Russell lead with integrity, raise the standard, and prove every day that this industry is stronger because of diverse talent and perspective. We are proud to spotlight a few of the incredible women shaping our work.

Beth Beverlin

Senior Preconstruction Coordinator

Beth did not set out to work in construction — she says she “fell into it.” But after briefly stepping away, she realized this industry is exactly where she is meant to be.

Over the past 10 years at Russell, every experience has shaped her both professionally and personally. Her favorite part is “seeing something go from concept to completion and knowing you helped build it.” That transformation — from idea to reality — fuels her passion for the work.

As a woman in construction at Russell, Beth shares that she feels empowered. “Our core values connect us, and our leadership truly paves the way for growth and opportunity.” She is proud to work alongside talented women from the field to the executive level who support one another through challenges and celebrate wins together. What started as colleagues has grown into lasting friendships, making the work even more meaningful.

Cassie Heller

Project Manager

Cassie chose construction because she is wired to solve problems and make things happen. She thrives on turning vision into reality, sharing that “there is something deeply satisfying about taking an idea on paper and turning it into a physical space with a team.”

Each project brings new lessons, and that constant growth is what keeps the work exciting. Her favorite part is “seeing a project come to life from the ground up,” knowing the coordination and teamwork it took to keep everything on track and deliver a space to an Owner.

Working at Russell has been empowering for Cassie. She explains, “I’m held to high standards, trusted with responsibility, and respected for the work I bring to the table.” Surrounded by “talented and wicked smart women,” she finds that watching them master their craft fuels her fire and pushes her to be better every day.

Kelly Young

Vice President of Government Development

Kelly often says she “didn’t so much choose construction as construction chose” her. In overseeing government development initiatives, she has learned that success requires being a true teammate to project teams and subcontractors.

That means understanding field realities, having empathy for jobsite conditions, and recognizing “without exception — that safety always comes first, ahead of both schedule and budget.” At the same time, when investors entrust her with their capital, she carries the responsibility of ensuring projects are delivered successfully on schedule and within budget. As she puts it, “The only way those goals are achieved is through trust, alignment, and deep respect for the skill and expertise of the field professionals who make it all happen.”

Her favorite part of the work echoes The A-Team: “I love it when a plan comes together.” But she is quick to note that it is never the work of one person. It is always the result of a committed, collaborative team.

When asked what it is like to work at Russell as a woman in construction, Kelly shares that her hope is “there truly is no difference.” Still, she acknowledges the strength of the sisterhood within the company. “That sense of community makes us stronger individually and collectively, and I’m proud to be part of it.”

Megan Kraszewski

Project Coordinator

Megan chose construction because she wanted a career where she could see the impact of her work every day. Watching a project evolve from an idea on paper into something tangible that serves a community drives her motivation.

She finds the greatest fulfillment in the problem-solving, explaining that “there’s something incredibly rewarding about overcoming challenges as a team and seeing the progress.” That teamwork and forward momentum define her experience in the industry.

Working at Russell as a woman in construction has been empowering for Megan. She says she feels “respected, supported, and encouraged to grow,” adding that Russell’s emphasis on collaboration and diverse perspectives creates an environment where women can succeed and lead.

Nicole Kreeger

Vice President of Marketing and Client Relations

Nicole stumbled into construction nearly ten years ago, but she has not looked back. What began as an unexpected path quickly became a calling rooted in purpose.

She reflects, “Understanding how communities are built and valuing the people who bring them to life is an honor.” Each time she sees a building come to life, she is reminded that “construction shapes legacies for generations and deserves intention, precision, and care.”

For Nicole, construction is about far more than structures. It is about people, impact, and responsibility. Every project represents a lasting contribution to a community and a legacy that will serve others long after the ribbon is cut.

Women in Construction Week reminds us that building great communities starts with building great people. The women of Russell lead with intention, collaborate with integrity, and strengthen every project they touch.
