United Way 2019 Recap

United Way 2019 Recap

Improving the quality of our community is one of our top values at Russell. One way we demonstrate this is through our participation in the United Way. This year we once again had an incredible campaign and were able to exceed last year’s numbers.  This year, our grand total between pledging, special events and a corporate donation was $35,438.80, exceeding last year’s total by $1,345.58! Almost $29,800 of this year’s grand total came from pledges made by Russell employees, amounting to a 78% participation rate, and the remaining came from special event fundraisers such as a silent auction, wine-beer pull, ice cream sundae bar, children’s drawing contest, and a root beer float fundraiser. Additionally, Russell had more than a dozen employees participate in United Way’s Day of Caring where they spent the day building a retaining wall around the Peterson Park’s playground in Davenport.

Russell was also honored as the first recipient of the United Way Company of the Year Award in August. As the first recipient of this award, Russell is proud to be able to continue to make a noticeable impact on the Quad Cities community through organizations like the United Way.  To learn more about the organization, please visit their website here.
