Russell Wins AGC of Missouri Keystone Award for Lutheran High School South Jubel Center for the Arts
Russell is honored to be named the winner of the 2025 AGC of Missouri Keystone Award in the Under $20 Million category for the Lutheran High School South Jubel Center for the Arts. This prestigious award celebrates excellence in construction, honoring projects that exemplify innovation, collaboration, and craftsmanship while advancing the industry’s highest standards of quality and integrity.
Russell partnered with Lutheran High School South and Fox Architects to deliver the Jubel Center for the Arts, a transformative addition to the school’s campus. The new facility features a 626-seat auditorium, FEMA-rated storm shelter and band room, dedicated art studio, administrative offices, and flexible collaboration spaces that support both creative and academic pursuits. As the school’s first performing arts theater since its opening in 1957, the Jubel Center redefines how students learn, perform, and connect with their community. Every detail, from lighting and acoustics to circulation and finishes, was intentionally designed to enhance the student experience and expand opportunities in the arts.
“Throughout the project, Russell demonstrated an exceptional understanding of our needs, proactively working with us to align construction activities with an active school environment. They were caring, kind, and fully invested in delivering a project that met our goals while respecting our day-to-day operations and budget,” said Dr. Jonathan Butterfield, Head of School at Lutheran High School South.
Across 63,595 work hours, the project achieved zero OSHA recordables, zero lost-time injuries, and zero citations, a testament to Russell’s proactive safety culture and care for the school community. Students were invited to tour the jobsite, gaining real-world insight into construction careers as they watched their new facility take shape.
“The Jubel Center stands as a testament to what can be achieved when design, construction, and purpose come together to create spaces that inspire,” said Matthew Stack, President, St. Louis at Russell. “We’re deeply grateful to Lutheran High School South for trusting us to bring their vision to life and honored to be recognized alongside so many other talented St. Louis firms.”
The Keystone Awards celebrate firms that deliver innovative solutions and outstanding results. For Russell, this recognition underscores the collaboration, creativity, and community partnership at the heart of every project.
