Ribbon Cutting: Vested Farms Greenhouse

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis celebrated the grand opening of the Vested Farms Greenhouse with a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 30th, 2024. With a goal of improving the wellness of individuals and organizations, Vested Farms Greenhouse will cultivate nutritious produce to the St. Louis community.

The 6,800 s.f. greenhouse features innovative elements like:

  • Heated floors for year-round cultivation and Tower Garden® technology.
  • An aeroponic vertical farming system, that achieves a 10-fold increase in yield compared to traditional farms, while utilizing only 5% of the water and 10% of the land.

Connected to the greenhouse is a 1,700 s.f. space, equipped with amenities such as a walk-in cooler, locker rooms, bathrooms, and a dedicated workspace for greenhouse staff.

The celebration was attended by Missouri Governor Mike Parson and local leaders who gathered to celebrate the new community resource that will provide their harvested food to Panera Pantry and local markets for distribution.

Vested Farms Greenhouse is an initiative of the Urban League’s Restoring Hope Campaign, which raises funds for the creation of a vital and accessible community hub that offers essential programs and services and facilitates ongoing self-improvement, vibrant community development, and equal opportunity for everyone.
