Russell is very pleased to announce the promotion of several team members in Q3 2023!

ALEC JENSEN – Senior Project Manager

Alec began his career at Russell as an intern and started full-time as a Project Engineer in 2016.  Over the years, he has completed projects including Coe College, St. Patrick’s Assisted Living, and multiple projects for a worldwide manufacturer of agricultural, forestry and construction machinery.  Alec is a valued INNOVATION leader who drives initiatives within the Procore Task Force and our internal Be A Part of Something Bigger strategic planning team. 

MAX ERPELDING Project Manager

Max started his career at Russell as a Project Engineer in 2021.  He was instrumental in the successful completion of the new energy service facility in Davenport.  Max is currently working on the Wyffels Hybrids warehouse project in Ames, IA and is leading a façade improvement project for Central Bank in Geneseo. He has also helped recruit several new team members to Russell!  He is very active in in his COMMUNITY as a football and wrestling coach at Bettendorf High School!

JESSE SMITH – Senior Estimator

Jess has been a tremendous asset for the Russell Pre-Construction team for the past 2+ years. He is a  consummate professional who operates with INTEGRITY and is always willing to accept any challenge that comes his way. Jesse has been pivotal in bringing several projects for the Muscatine Community School District across the finish line on time and under budget. As a selfless individual who is always willing to contribute to the team, Jesse has played a major support role for numerous projects for the North Scott School District.

SCOTT HEIM– Senior Superintendent

Over his 20+ years at Russell, Scott has completed many projects of increasing size and complexity to the delight of his project teams and clients alike.  Scott is known throughout the Quad Cities construction community for his high standards in the fields of SAFETY, quality, and client satisfaction.  Scott always goes the extra mile for the betterment of the project and ultimately, the client.

Over the past 15 years, Terry has been a leader in the field.  Terry’s ability to effectively collaborate with partners (literally anywhere) has provided significant growth for Russell.  In fact, Terry has worked in seven states and flown over one million miles during his tenure at Russell!  Wow, that is impressive!  Terry’s loyalty and integrity can’t be understated, and we are grateful that he is on the team!  A few of the clients that Terry has serviced in his tenure include The Iowa 80 Group, and Russell-Development.  Terry is an outstanding example of a CLIENT-CENTRIC and trustworthy traveling field leader!

MIKE MALAND – General Superintendent

Since joining Russell in January 2022, Mike has been the definition of a leader. His focus has been on the 21c Museum Hotel – St. Louis project, however, his impact has been felt well beyond the project site. Mike exemplifies APPRECIATING PEOPLE and builds strong teams.  While on 21C, Mike worked tirelessly to deliver on Russell’s core values working side by side with field staff, subcontractors, and the owner. Mike’s experiences and skills make him uniquely qualified to excel in the General Superintendent role, and he will be able to add great value to Russell’s future projects.
