This project included a phased renovation to include a new 12,000 s.f. new sanctuary and gathering space, including:
- Welcome Center
- Vestibule
- Cry / Pray Rooms
- Sound Booth
- Backstage Area with Changing Rooms
- 7,000 s.f. shell area
The project also included the installation of a custom-made cross featured in the new sanctuary space. This 200 lb. cross was constructed out of 3/8” X 8” aluminum bar stock with machine beveled edges, covered with 130 board feet of quartered ribbon strip Sapele veneer, and coated with a danish oil finish. This one-of-a-kind item included approximately 77 man-hours of design and construction and 14.5 hours of installation time. The installation alone required two scissor lifts and one boom to lift the 200 lb. structure for Geneseo First United Methodist Church.
