Working with Gardner-Edgerton USD #231, Russell’s Kansas City office completed an artificial turf field upgrade, grandstand improvements, and a new concessions building in three months’ time at the existing football field. Between the May graduation ceremony and the first football game, a 99,000 s.f. artificial turf (Ram Turf) football field was installed with new goal posts and major drainage improvements.
A 2,700 s.f. concessions building with kitchen, storage, and restrooms was built with decorative concrete masonry units and a standing seam, barrel truss roof.
The grandstand improvements include the addition of 740 bleacher seats and a lighted canopy over the bleachers and press box. New signage proudly proclaims the athletic complex as the home of the Trailblazers.
