The 48,000 s.f. addition to an existing high school included a 2,000-seat competition gymnasium, training room, wrestling and multipurpose rooms, pre-function lobby, weight and fitness rooms, and a fine arts flex theatre.
The gymnasium, lobby, and wrestling rooms did not have a FEMA structure and were started while the FEMA application was pending. The project is under budget.
When hired, the District asked if it was possible to provide a FEMA structure as some portion of the 45,000 s.f. addition. We took the lead and was able to secure a grant from FEMA to provide an 8,400 s.f. portion of the building which is capable of housing over 1,000 occupants in the event of a storm.
