This project consisted of the 14,700 s.f. addition and 10,135 s.f. renovation to the existing building, including two dance studios, a weight room, and new offices. The park district is located in the same building as the high school and grade school, directly in between them. Logistically, the construction site was in the middle of the parent drop-off and pick-up zone. Therefore, the construction team had to get creative and locate a new drop-off zone outside our construction site and shift our work hours and delivery windows to avoid heavy traffic. This factor also required us to phase the site work so that we never shut down the lanes between the two schools while school was in session.
