project update: Vested Farms Greenhouse

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is on a mission through its Restoring Hope Capital Campaign to establish essential community resources that foster continual self-improvement, vibrant neighborhoods, and equitable opportunity for all.

Russell is proud to partner with Urban League to build a critical aspect of their initiative – the Vested Farms Greenhouse.

The 6,800 s.f. greenhouse will house a hydroponic urban farm used by Vested Urban Farms and Fresh Harvest 365 to grow fresh produce. Key features like heated floors through PEX piping in the slab will ensure a sustainable environment for year-round cultivation. The produce grown will be distributed through Panera Pantry to provide nourishing food to St. Louis families and sold at local markets.

The facility is rapidly taking shape with the connector building under roof and drywall installation beginning soon. Metal exterior panels are set to begin in November 2023, as well. The shell construction is on target to be completed by the end of 2023 with final completion slated for early 2024.
