Stakeholders break ground with shovels at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic School groundbreaking.

Groundbreaking: St. Joan of Arc Catholic School

Our Lady of Lourdes and St. John Vianney hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, May 29 , 2024 to celebrate the beginning of construction of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic School.

Spanning 79,990 s.f., the school will have capacity for 630 students and will feature two classrooms per grade level. In addition, St. Joan of Arc Catholic School will include:

  • Dedicated STEM and arts classrooms
  • Collaborative space for each grade level
  • High school- rated gymnasium
  • Daycare for infant to three-year-olds and preschool program with dedicated drop-off area
  • State-of-the-art security 
  • Playground
  • Student commons featuring an attached chapel
  • Administrative offices

The celebration was attended by members and leaders of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. John Vianney, city officials, and students from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.

“Few people would ever deny the impact the Catholic Schools have had upon our society, communities, and families, which is why today’s groundbreaking is so very important for today’s youth and future generations,” Father Rich Adam shared. 

With a mission to best serve the changing needs in the Bettendorf Catholic community, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. John Vianney are coming together to form one school and church. The school will welcome students in the Fall of 2025.
