Groundbreaking: East Moline Public Library

Groundbreaking: East Moline Public Library

On Thursday, May 6th we officially broke ground on the new East Moline Public Library. This comes after many years of hard work and perseverance by all involved parties. This is especially true for the Library Director, Laura Long, who has maintained running the current library while campaigning for a new location and spearheading the organizing and planning of a new facility. Progress is beginning for East Moline’s first new public library in 84 years.

The new library is taking over a former 16,000 s.f. bank building that was donated by TBK Bank and will be receiving a 6,000 s.f. addition, more than double the size of the current library.

Public libraries are oftentimes a sanctuary and place of learning for many people and Russell is very excited to be able to help provide a place for the citizens of East Moline to be able to learn and grow. This is the third public library project that Russell has constructed in the Quad Cities.
