Project Description:
Designed by world-renowned London architect David Chipperfield, this Smithsonian affiliated museum showcases exhibitions from around the world. The 110,000 s.f. 4 level contemporary style building was constructed with cast-in-place foundations, and a steel frame with a skin of aluminum and glass walls. An Architectural symbol of the third millennium, the new Figge Art Museum towers 120 feet over the Mississippi for a spectacular view. The new museum features a 25,000 s.f. gallery, five fully equipped art studios, an auditorium, 86 car underground parking garage, terraced public square and a full service restaurant.
