The American Cancer Society

On August 22, 2008 Russell Construction held true to its core values and presented the American Cancer Society with a check for $47,776. This donation was the result of Russell's 20th Annual Charity Golf Outing to benefit a local charity. The American Cancer Society was chosen as the 2008 charity-of-choice due to its direct impact on almost each and every Russell employee.

According to the American Cancer Society website, www.cancer.org, in 2008 alone there are an expected 1,437,280 new cases of cancer diagnosed and 565,650 will to lose their battle. This staggering number moved a committee of Russell employees and volunteers to work over 650 hours to organize the 20th Annual Charity Golf Outing and the coinciding 25th Anniversary Celebration, where the American Cancer Society was presented the check.
