National Association of Women in Construction

Each year, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) honors individuals and organizations that have helped to further the construction industry in their local areas. NAWIC was originally founded in 1953 as a support network for the small fraction of women who were present in the construction industry. Today, this nationwide not-for-profit organization is located in 14 regions across the United States, including the Quad Cities.
In 2007, Russell Construction received “Awards of Excellence” for the Moline Public Library, Moline, IL; Blue Grass Savings Bank, Blue Grass, Iowa; Swanson Commons Residence Hall, Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois; Orthopaedic & Rheumatology Associates PC (ORA), Bettendorf, Iowa; St. Ambrose Residence Hall & Christ The King Chapel, St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa.
Russell also received the “Distinguished Award of Excellence,” for their construction of the seamless glass building that is the Figge Art Museum, located on Davenport, Iowa’s riverfront.
Projects receiving “Awards of Merit” include Alcoa Credit Union, Moline, Illinois; East Moline Glass, East Moline, Illinois; Iowa 80 Truck Stop, Walcott, Iowa; Austin Hall, Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois; The Outing Club, Sanders Building, and Cosgrove Dining Hall of St. Ambrose University, all located in Davenport, Iowa.
