Russell Awarded New Lock & Dam Project

Russell Construction is proud to announce that we were the successful bidder on a $2.8 million project for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) – Rock Island District. Located in Muscatine, IA and New Boston, IL, Lock & Dam 16-17 is the second project of this type that Russell has been awarded in the last four months.

This project will consist of:

  • Demolition, removal and disposal of existing reinforced concrete walls around storage yard perimeters, reinforced concrete foundations & slabs and chain link fence and gates
  • Placement of new reinforced concrete foundations and perimeter walls
  • Installation of grating and structural support members, new riprap, grouting for riprap
  • Regrading and compaction of existing material in storage yard
  • Placement of new aggregate, compaction and degrading of entire aggregate base in storage yards
  • Installation of getextile fabric in earthen dike
  • Fabrication and/or modification of bulkhead trunks
  • Cleaning, painting and modification of service bridge flat cars
  • Installation of chain link fencing, gates and handrails
  • Cleaning and painting of miscellaneous items
  • Installation of survey markers and associated alignment survey
  • Electrical work

    Russell is currently finishing up Dresden Lock & Dam, located in Morris, IL for the USACE – Rock Island District.
